AWA Asia hires senior patent attorney in Beijing
The Asian arm of IP firm AWA has hired a new senior patent attorney in Beijing.
Hai Lui, who was previously a partner at Cheng & Peng Intellectual Property Law Office in Beijing, focuses his work primarily within the chemistry and life sciences sectors.
Before joining AWA Asia, he advised domestic and multinational corporations as well as universities and research institutions.
With an understanding of patent practices in the US and European Union, Lui has experience advising Chinese pharma companies on filing strategies, validity searches and infringement analysis in these jurisdictions.
Ai-Leen Lim, CEO and principal counsel of AWA Asia, said she was delighted to see the firm’s patent team expand.
Lim said: “Hai brings a wealth of China and international experience to our patent team in Beijing and his industry experience within both the chemistry and life sciences sectors compliments the full-service offering we provide to our clients.”
