IPH Group appoints new MD for Spruson & Ferguson in Australia

IP holding company, the IPH Group, has promoted Russell Davies to managing director of the Australian offices of its subsidiary law firm,  Spruson & Ferguson.

Previously, Davies was the executive general manager of Australian IP firm,  Shelston IP, which also belongs to the IPH group.

Davies has more than 29 years’ experience in IP, spending 23 of these years with Shelston IP. He is a registered Australian and New Zealand patent and trademark attorney.

IPH managing director and CEO Dr Andrew Blattman, said: “Russell stood out in a very competitive executive search process and we are delighted that we have been able to support another one of our people to grow and progress their career within the IPH Group.

Russell is a highly regarded leader in Shelston IP, and will no doubt bring these leadership qualities, along with his wealth of knowledge of the industry, into this new role.”

I look forward to continuing to drive the firm’s strategy of delivering the highest standard of service to our clients here in Australia and through IPH’s expanded network in the region.”

Davies began his new role on August 17 2020. Shelston IP principal, Chris Bevitt will step into the role of acting managing director of Shelston IP, with an executive search process to  replace Davies scheduled to start in the second half of 2021.
