Raka Roy

Raka Roy is a partner and head of the Intellectual Property and Data Protection practice at Galadari Advocates & Legal Consultants in the United Arab Emirates. She has over 16 years of experience in intellectual property, including 13 years in the Middle East, and advises clients across a wide range of industries.

Her practice covers IP auditing, advisory work on commercial and regulatory IP issues, brand clearance, prosecution, opposition proceedings, enforcement, anti-counterfeiting and contentious IP disputes. She also advises on data protection, privacy, advertising issues, consumer protection law, social media compliance and product-related legal frameworks.

Roy has significant experience working with clients across sectors including fashion, FMCG, automotive, retail and real estate. She is recognised for her practical, solution-oriented approach and her ability to manage complex cross-industry client matters with a clear and commercial focus.

She previously trained and worked at an international law firm in Dubai and is a registered patent agent with the Indian Patent Office. 

Roy is active in the international IP community and is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), where she serves on the Unfair Competition Committee representing the Middle East and Africa. She is also a regular speaker at international IP conferences and forums. 

She has successfully represented clients in unfair competition and IP enforcement disputes, including matters involving social media-related infringement and retail sector disputes.
