Laura Collada began her career at the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), where she served as deputy director of unfair competition prevention before joining Dumont, where she has spent nearly three decades building and leading the firm’s IP practice.
Collada advises clients across the full lifecycle of IP rights, including strategy, prosecution, enforcement, and litigation, and is regarded as a leading voice in Latin American IP practice.
She is also deeply engaged in the international IP community, serving as a regular speaker at major conferences held by organisations including the International Trademark Association (INTA), the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), Marques, the Pharmaceutical Trade Marks Group (PTMG), the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA), and the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI).
She also holds leadership roles across multiple professional bodies. Collada has been particularly active in inclusion initiatives, including through INTA’s Women’s Leadership Initiative and by helping establish and advance equitable structures within Mexican IP institutions.
She also sits on the board of the INTA Foundation working to expand access to IP educational opportunities.
Reflecting her sustained impact on both legal practice and professional leadership in the region, Collada has been repeatedly recognised as one of the most influential women in IP in Latin America and has received multiple awards for her work.
