Arzinger partner Kateryna Oliinyk is co-head of the firm’s IP Practice, Technology Group and Defence Group. She is also an attorney-at-law, Ukrainian patent and trademark attorney, and a domain name dispute resolution panelist under UDRP, URS and UA-DRP procedures.
In her senior position at Arzinger, Oliinyk leads strategic client projects, supervises cross-border IP protection strategies, and oversees complex litigation and regulatory matters.
Over the past two decades, she has built a distinctive practice that combines traditional intellectual property law with emerging technology and regulatory frameworks, including artificial intelligence, blockchain, e-commerce, and data protection. Her practice spans registration, enforcement, complex litigation, and IP-driven transactions across pharmaceutical, agricultural, FMCG, and technology sectors.
Oliinyk’s work highlights include playing a key role in representing Biofarma (France) and Servier Ukraine before the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) in a landmark unfair competition case involving the unlawful use of lookalike packaging in the pharmaceutical sector.
In addition to her private practice, she plays a significant role in shaping IP policy and legislative reform in Ukraine, contributing to alignment with EU IP standards.
She holds senior leadership roles in industry organisations, including co-chair of the Intellectual Property Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (AmCham Ukraine) and vice president of legal affairs at the IT Ukraine Association, where she has contributed to business-government dialogue on legal reform and innovation policy.
Oliinyk also contributes to the wider IP profession through mentorship, teaching and her involvement in AmCham Ukraine’s Women’s Executives Leadership Development Initiative, which is aimed at boosting the leadership skills, education and empowerment of women leaders.
