Elizabeth Rest is principal and co-founder of Crown, a San Francisco-based boutique IP law firm representing clients across creative, entertainment, consumer products, cannabis, and emerging industries.

Prior to establishing Crown in 2015, Rest spent three years with Hiaring + Smith, where she focused on representing clients in domestic and international trademark matters, and six years with Idell & Seitel, where she represented clients in the entertainment industry in transactional and business matters.
She is a former chair of the California Lawyers Association Intellectual Property Law Section and currently serves as an advisor. She also chairs the section’s Entertainment and Sports Law Interest Group, and is a member of the American Bar Association’s Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries, the International Trademark Association, and the San Francisco County Bar.
Rest has built a boutique firm model centred on mentorship, accessibility, and collaborative leadership. She currently mentors a female student at UC Law San Francisco and is a public speaker and advocate at the federal level.
