Eleonora Rosati

Eleonora Rosati is one of the leading authorities on intellectual property and fashion law. An Italian-qualified lawyer, she is a full professor of intellectual property law at Stockholm University and of counsel at Bird & Bird, where she advises on complex IP matters at the intersection of law, technology, and creative industries. 

She also holds positions at CEIPI-Université de Strasbourg (France), Glion Institute of Higher Education (Switzerland), EDHEC Business School (France), and the University of Cambridge (UK).

Through her academic leadership, influential publications, and engagement with policymakers, courts, and industry stakeholders, Rosati has played a significant role in shaping the development and interpretation of IP law in Europe. She is renowned for her contributions to fashion law and is regarded as a leading thought leader in the field.

Rosati serves as editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice (Oxford University Press) and is a long-standing contributor to the award-winning IP blog The IPKat. In 2025, together with Irene Calboli, she co-edited The Handbook of Fashion Law (Oxford University Press), a landmark volume bringing together leading international experts to examine the legal and regulatory challenges facing the global fashion and luxury industries. She is also co-founder of Fashion Law London, a platform dedicated to exploring legal issues affecting the fashion sector.
