Anna Stopińska-Ślefarska is president of the board at Polservice Patent and Trademark Attorneys Office. She has more than 30 years of experience in IP law, with a particular focus on trademark prosecution, enforcement and strategic brand protection.
She has been a Polish patent and trademark attorney since 1983, is also a European patent attorney, and is a professional representative before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Within Polservice, she led the trademark department from 1992 to 2018, joined the board in 2005, and was elected president of the board in 2018, reflecting her long-standing leadership within the firm.
Her early career included work in the firm’s Patent Department, assisting domestic clients in securing international patent protection. She later developed extensive expertise in trademark prosecution and litigation, and today advises both domestic and international clients on trademark protection, enforcement, maintenance and IP-related transactions, including licensing and assignments.
Stopińska-Ślefarska is highly active in the international IP community. She is a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and the Licensing Executives Society (LES), a founding member of LES Poland, and has long-standing involvement with ECTA, where she serves on the Membership and Disciplinary Committee. She has also been engaged in INTA committee work since 2004, including the Famous & Well-Known Marks Committee, and regularly speaks at international IP conferences.
Stopińska-Ślefarska has also been awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit by the president of Poland for her contribution to the development of IP. She is an influential figure in IP because she has helped shape trademark practice in Poland over more than three decades, combining senior leadership of one of the country’s leading IP firms with active involvement in European and international trademark policy and professional organisations.
