Anna Maria Stein

Anna Maria Stein is a lawyer admitted before the Italian Supreme Court and is also a qualified Unified Patent Court (UPC) representative.

She practises across all areas of intellectual property, with particular expertise spanning mechanical and electronic engineering, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, telecommunications, chemicals, fashion, furniture, and industrial design. Her practice covers both contentious and non-contentious matters, including high-value litigation, strategic IP advisory work, portfolio management, and intellectual property aspects of mergers and acquisitions.

In recent years, Stein has developed a notable focus on the aerospace sector, advising both established industry players and innovative startups. Her work in this field involves navigating complex IP challenges relating to patents, trade secrets, and unfair competition, particularly in the context of rapidly evolving technologies.

Alongside her legal work, Stein is actively engaged in academic and professional discourse, including contributing articles on EU copyright developments for WIPR. She is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and has authored numerous publications in the field of intellectual property law.

She holds significant leadership roles within professional organisations, including serving as vice president of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) Italy and vice secretary of the Intellectual Property and Antitrust Commission of the Milan Bar Association. She is also a member of several international committees, including the LES International Copyright Licensing Committee, LES International Trademarks, Designs and Merchandising Committee, and the Standing Committee on Genetic Resources and Traditional Knowledge of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) International.
