Leason Ellis makes three appointments in New York office
Leason Ellis has appointed two partners and one of counsel in its office in New York.
Safet Metjahic joins from McGuireWoods, where he was a partner and head of the patent prosecution group.
Before joining that firm in 2007, he served for more than 16 years with the US Patent and Trademark Office, where he was a supervisory patent examiner.
Paul Zagar also joins as a partner, having previously worked for Blank Rome. He focuses his practice on all aspects of patent law, and before a career in law, he was a practising general and vascular surgeon.
Lauren Emerson joins as of counsel from Baker Botts, where she was an associate for ten years. She focuses her practice in several areas including IP clearance, client counselling and portfolio management.
Emerson also currently serves as co-chair of the copyright law and practice committee of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association, having previously worked in the marketing department at Pokémon USA.
