Law firm Akerman has added two partners to its intellectual property practice group.
Copyright specialists Ross Charap (pictured below, left) and Matthew Finkelstein (pictured below, right) will join the firm’s New York office. The pair previously worked at law firm Arent Fox.
Both lawyers advise recording artists, songwriters and music publishing companies on copyright and other IP matters.
Charap also represents playwrights, screenwriters and novelists. Finkelstein also advises clients on technology transactions.
Mark Passler, co-chair of the intellectual property practice group, said: “Ross and Matt are among an elite group of lawyers with an intimate understanding of both music publishing and performing rights licensing.”
