Why and how did you reach your job at Anaqua?

Anaqua is the most innovative provider in the IP legal space—I wanted to be part of the excitement and the action.

My legal experience began with my qualifying as a lawyer in Australia and working in trademarks and patent litigation at a time when docketing was just becoming electronic. I helped my firm move to its first database—a part of history.

I relocated to the US in 2001 and worked with global paints and coatings company PPG Industries as its management were looking at how they could use outside counsel to help manage their IP spend and expand their capability. I later moved to the law firm they had chosen as outside counsel, and worked with them and then Ladas and Parry when PPG Industries’ portfolio grew.

With my experience in outsourcing and onshoring, in 2013 I moved to CPA Global as the company was expanding its IP support services business. My role evolved from supporting the US sales team as head of client solutions architecture to eventually serving a more global, future-looking role as senior vice president of strategy for law firms. I joined Anaqua when we launched our new law firm business unit.

Outline a typical day in your role.

Working from home with my two teens (plus dog and cat) is my current environment and it’s been great.
