Baker Botts adds PTAB and Taiwan litigation experts in two US states
Firm expands team in California and Texas with pair of patent litigators from Orrick | Both bring expertise in technologies, energy, and life sciences | The partners serve clients in Asia and the US.
Baker Botts has added two patent litigators, Robert Benson and Jeffry Johnson, as partners for its offices in San Francisco and Houston.
Robert Benson brings more than 30 years of experience in handling commercial and IP litigation in both federal and state courts.
His track record includes securing injunctive relief, litigating trials related to US International Trade Commission investigations, and regular appearances before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Benson, who previously led the Taiwan practice at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, has a background in diverse technologies such as semiconductors, graphics processing, mobile devices, computer hardware and software, and medical devices.

Johnson, also a previous partner at Orrick, adds experience in patent litigation across technology, energy, and life sciences sectors.
With a doctorate degree in chemistry and engineering, Johnson's background as a scientist enhances his understanding of technical issues in litigation.
His collaboration with Benson extends to representing clients in the US and Asia.
