Murgitroyd
Firm overview:
International reach is one of Murgitroyd’s defining characteristics, with the firm operating from 22 offices across Europe, the Americas and Asia. Managing a significant volume of filings, the firm has continued to invest in artificial intelligence (AI) tools—with an emphasis on responsible adoption—and advises on matters pertaining to global patent portfolio management. When contentious matters arise, the team represents clients before the UK and EU Intellectual Property Offices and Unified Patent Court (UPC), among other forums.
Team overview:
Murgitroyd’s scale gives clients access to a broad technical base across chemistry, engineering, biotechnology and digital technologies, among other areas. The team includes over 50 qualified UPC representatives.
In March 2026, Murgitroyd appointed Barry Moore as managing director of its patent practice, in a move designed to drive the firm’s next phase of growth and strengthen its relationships with clients. Moore joined Murgitroyd in 2021 following the acquisition of Hanna Moore & Curley, the patents firm he co-founded.
This followed three high-profile appointments to the senior leadership team: Camila Jagger as chief operating officer, David Goldsby as chief technology officer, and Russell Flanders as commercial director.
There have been some notable departures from the patent team over the past year, including senior European patent attorney Gabrielle Radault leaving in August 2025, and former patents director Beth Marshall moving to HGF in March this year.
