WilmerHale adds London patent expert

WilmerHale has recruited patent specialist Annsley Merelle Ward as counsel in its London office, effective February 24.

Merelle Ward, who previously worked at Bristows, focuses on technically complex patent and trade secrets cases, including standard-essential patent litigation.

She is also chair of the London chapter of the ChIPs network, a global non-profit focused on advancing women in technology, law and policy.

Susan Murley, co-managing partner at the firm, said Merelle Ward’s “experience with high-stakes IP litigation work and ability to manage complex international patent disputes will benefit our life sciences and tech clients alike”.

“I am thrilled to be joining the exceptional team at WilmerHale, a firm that boasts the most esteemed IP litigation practice in the US and a leading practice in the UK,” Merelle Ward said.

“It’s a great opportunity to help strengthen the ways in which clients can rely upon WilmerHale for well-coordinated and comprehensive guidance in global patent litigation matters,” she added.

In 2019, Merelle Ward was selected as a WIPR Trailblazer, as part of our 100  Influential Women.
