Former head of IP at retail organisation Walmart, Wade Savoy, has joined Rimon and will work in its New Orleans office.
At Walmart Savoy oversaw an international portfolio of more than 10,000 trademark applications and registrations, and created programmes to review products in the US and China to avoid IP problems.
“Adding Wade bolsters our top team of IP professionals, and will help us continue to present a multi-disciplinary, team-based approach to the challenges facing companies in a technology-rich environment,” said Michael Moradzadeh, co-managing partner at Rimon.
“When I decided to go back into private practice, I was looking for a firm that was focused on creative methods of shaping the law, and one filled with attorneys with experience on the cutting edge of the law. I was very happy to have found it in Rimon,” said Savoy.
Before joining Walmart, Savoy worked in the IP group of Kirkpatrick & Lockhart (now K&L Gates), where he headed an Internet enforcement team that specialised in protecting clients’ rights online.
