Venable counsel joins Dentons as partner

Dentons has added Bety Javidzad, previously a counsel at Venable, as a partner in the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution practice.

Based in Los Angeles, Javidzad will be managing complex commercial disputes on behalf of national and international clients at Dentons.

Javidzad has defended some of the largest companies in the US against competitor suits involving claims of trademark and copyright infringement, unfair competition, and false advertising. She also has experience in defending clients against class actions involving claims of false advertising.

In addition, Javidzad has assisted clients with breach of contract and business fraud complaints.

Over her career Javidzad has gained broad industry expertise, having worked with clients in fintech, financial services, blockchain, fashion, retail, advertising, media, and food and beverage.

Before joining Venable, Javidzad spent more than eight years at Hogan Lovells.

Mike McNamara, US CEO of Dentons, said: “Her advertising and class action background—in addition to her focus on emerging trends and technologies—will be of great value to many of our clients.”
