UPC’s Grabinski takes part in mock trial: how to watch

Trial streamed live from Paris | President of the UPC court of appeal among judge panel | Solar panel patent ‘case’ will explore issues on procedure, novelty and indirect infringement.

As preparations for the Unified Patent Court get underway, a mock UPC trial is being hosted in the chamber of the Paris Trade Court today, November 21.

A panel of UPC judges composed of Klaus Grabinski (chair of the panel and president of the UPC Court of Appeal), Camille Lignières (UPC Paris local division) and Patrik Rydman (UPC technically qualified judge,) will hear a case relating to the infringement of a patent on solar tiles.

The trial will explore issues on procedure, novelty and indirect infringement, and will be streamed live in English. The trial starts at 1pm but will be available to view online later.

Pauline Debré, partner in Linklater’s IP practice, will be making a defendant introductory statement.
