Software specialist joins VLP Law from Seed IP
Jim White, a former principal at Seed IP Law Group, has joined VLP Law Group as a partner in Seattle, Washington.
White specialises in computer software and internet-related patents, covering procurement, domestic and foreign prosecution, and portfolio analysis. He also offers opinions on patent validity and infringement, as well as licensing options.
“I am very excited to be joining this fine team of lawyers in such a dynamic environment,” White said.
He has more than two decades of experience in patent law, having spent 16 years at Seed IP and five years at Perkins Coie. Before practising law, he worked as a software engineer for six years.
White has dealt with patents relating to artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, cryptography, cloud computing, networking, and broadband technology.
David Rosie, co-chair of the firm’s IP practice group, said: “Jim’s technology background in software and internet-related technology will further strengthen our expertise in these areas.”
