Sidley Austin adds to San Francisco team

Law firm Sidley Austin has added a partner to its intellectual property practice.

Michael Bettinger, a patent specialist who has litigated cases for clients in the computer, telecoms and semiconductor industries, will join the firm’s San Francisco office.

He joins from law firm K&L Gates.

Patricia Thayer, leader of the firm’s IP litigation practice on the west coast, said: “Mike’s winning record in patent litigation will make him a great asset and valued member of our existing team.”

Sidley Austin has around 1,900 lawyers in 18 offices worldwide.
