Senior patent counsel joins Fasken

Canadian law firm Fasken has strengthened its Montreal office with the addition of Jonathan Cutler.

Cutler, who will serve as senior counsel in the IP group, focuses his practice on patents and industrial designs both in Canada and in the US.

He negotiates and drafts agreements related to patents, provides patent opinions, acts in contested matters, and prepares and files patent applications.

With almost 25 years of experience in patents, Cutler is also a professional engineer and is familiar with a broad range of technologies, including dental and medical devices, vehicles, energy and renewable resources, software and artificial intelligence.

He previously served as a partner at Canadian business law firm BCF for seven years.
