Rovi signs patent licensing deal with KT Corporation

Technology company Rovi has signed a patent licensing deal with Korean telecoms company KT Corporation covering entertainment products.

Rovi released a statement on Tuesday, March 15, where it outlined the terms of the agreement.

The licence provides KT with access to Rovi’s patent portfolio, providing entertainment services for KT’s TV and mobile subscribers.

KT provides telecoms, convergence, and over-the-top services in Korea.

It also offers video-on-demand and TV services over wireless networks and the internet as part of its digital services.

Samir Armaly, executive vice president, intellectual property and licensing at Rovi, said: “This licensing agreement with KT underscores the value of our discovery patent portfolio in Korea.”
