Robins Kaplan nabs Orrick partner in NYC
After three years at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, Elizabeth Gardner has joined Robins Kaplan’s IP and technology litigation group as a partner.
Gardner’s practice focuses on litigation relating to patents and trade secrets, and she counsels clients on the negotiation and drafting of licensing agreements. She also provides advice on issues related to patentability, validity, and infringement.
She said: “I am thrilled to be joining a firm with such an excellent reputation in litigation. I’ve always been dedicated to putting my clients’ interests first and I’m pleased that Robins Kaplan shares that same philosophy of client care.”
For more than 20 years, Gardner has represented clients in the chemical, pharmaceutical, electrical, medical products, and medical diagnostics industries.
She has appeared in the district courts, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the US International Trade Commission, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Gardner, who will be based in New York, spent nearly 25 years at Kenyon & Kenyon before joining Orrick in 2016.
Ron Schutz, managing partner of Robins Kaplan’s New York office, said: “We are very excited to welcome Elizabeth to the firm’s IP group. Her extensive work as a patent litigator—combined with her background in a wide variety of technology industries—will make her a tremendous asset to the firm and our clients.”
