Porter Hedges adds new IP litigator

Porter Hedges has hired Sarah Ring as a new IP partner in its litigation division based out of the firm’s main office in Houston.

The IP attorney will join the Texas-based law firm following a two-year stint as partner at Daniels & Tredennick, which she held from November 2019 to November 2021.

Ring represents clients across commercial litigation but specialises in IP and business disputes. She has worked across industries, including oil and gas, wireless, automobile, medical devices, and consumer products.

In her legal career, Ring has represented clients at both Federal and state trial courts across the US, as well as before the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and in inter partes review proceedings at the US Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Managing partner Rob Reedy said: “We are thrilled that Sarah has joined our intellectual property team which is a priority for the firm and continues to grow. Her broad-based commercial litigation experience and technical background are an ideal fit for our firm and our clients.”

Ring previously worked as an engineer in the natural gas industry and earned her BE in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.

Porter Hedges is a full-service law firm founded in 1981, serving a broad range of clients from large public entities to mid-size private businesses.

While predominantly based out of Houston, the firm also has an office in Oklahoma City.
