Pierce Atwood boosts IP practice with four attorneys

US-based law firm Pierce Atwood has strengthened its IP practice with the appointment of Robert Abrahamsen, Ilan Barzilay, Christopher Baxter and Cyrus Miller.

Abrahamsen has been appointed as partner and focuses his practice on procuring patent rights for clients, counselling on best practices for maximising IP value, and litigating patents in various tribunals.

He joins from law firm Wolf Greenfield & Sacks and will be based in both the Boston and Portland offices.

Barzilay, also a partner, is an IP practitioner specialising in obtaining and enforcing patent rights.

He procures patent rights for clients ranging from technology startups and research institutions to established companies and multinational corporations.

Barzilay, who joins from Seyfarth Shaw, will be based in the Boston office.

Baxter and Miller have joined the firm as associates from Seyfarth Shaw, and have experience in prosecuting numerous patent applications.

David Barry, managing partner, said: “We are pleased to strengthen our already robust IP and patent practices, and to expand the breadth and depth of the services we provide to our growing client roster.”
