Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP has added Joseph Lavelle to its intellectual property litigation group.

He will be based in the firm’s Washington, DC office.

Lavelle joins the firm as a partner from Howrey LLP, where he worked in the intellectual property and antitrust practice groups.

He has handled Section 337 investigations before the US International Trade Commission, the US Court of Federal Claims and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Lavelle has also litigated patents in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Steven Davis, chairman of Dewey & LeBoeuf, said, “Lavelle’s addition is another step in our effort to expand aspects of our firm's technology capabilities and establish ourselves as a global leader in the representation of technologyoriented companies in all of their major transactions and disputes."
