Orrick adds James Pooley from WIPO

Law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe has hired James Pooley as senior counsel in the firm’s intellectual property practice in Silicon Valley.

Pooley previously worked as deputy director general at the World Intellectual Property Organization.

He has experience in trade secrets, patent and cybersecurity and has represented clients in the technology industry.

Denise Mingrone, chair of the firm’s IP practice, said: “We are ecstatic that Jim has joined Orrick. He will be a unique resource for our clients given his diplomatic experience, his academic credentials, his prodigious scholarly output and his leadership in global IP platforms.”
