Nick Manley joins HGF’s engineering team as a partner

Chartered patent attorney Nick Manley has joined HGF’s engineering team as a partner.

Lucy Johnson, head of the engineering team, said: “The firm is delighted to welcome Nick to HGF’s engineering team. Nick comes with valuable experience and his expertise will further strengthen our specialist team.”

Manley previously worked as an IP consultant and before that, worked in various roles at WP Thompson for 35 years, lastly as a partner.

He joins HGF’s Manchester office where he will advise clients of all types, including start-up companies, universities, small and medium-sized enterprises, and large multinational organisations.

Manley has extensive experience at the European Patent Office (EPO), including its examining and opposition divisions and the boards of appeal. He also has litigation experience in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.

In addition to being a chartered patent attorney and European patent attorney, Manley is a registered trademark attorney and holds a Higher Courts Litigation Certificate.
