MoFo strengthens antitrust practice with Baker Botts hire
Baker Botts’s Vishal Mehta has joined Morrison Foerster as a partner in Washington, DC.
Mehta has represented a variety of companies involved in antitrust and other complex litigation involving claims of patent infringement, monopolies, price-fixing, and breach of contract. He has represented clients in government investigations at the state, federal, and international level.
In addition, Mehta counsels clients on implementing practical solutions to commercial challenges relating to antitrust issues, from advancing competition policy objectives to engaging with government stakeholders.
His clients come from a broad range of industries, including technology, telecommunications, energy, chemicals, life sciences, agriculture, consumer products, retail, and media.
Mehta, who joins the firm’s global antitrust law practice, had a “robust mergers practice” at Baker Botts, according to Morrison Foerster.
Jeff Jaeckel, co-chair of Morrison Foerster’s global antitrust law practice, said: “I am delighted to welcome Vishal to the firm as we continue to build out our global antitrust practice to meet the needs of our clients. His experience, especially with merger reviews and clearances, will be invaluable at a time when many transactions are coming under growing scrutiny.”
