Mintz adds IP chair from Curtis

Michael Graif, former chair of the IP practice at Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle, has joined Mintz as a member.

Graif’s practice focuses on trademark enforcement, technology transactions, and patent and trademark portfolio management. He also has expertise in the areas of social media and copyright matters.

He has represented a range of organisations, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, advising them on global licensing programmes and the protection and enforcement of IP rights.

In addition, Graif conducts due diligence analyses and assists clients with the IP aspects of business transactions. His clients come from a range of technology fields, such as computer software.

Graif, who will be based in the firm’s New York office, worked at law firms Venable, Chadbourne & Parke, and Kenyon & Kenyon before spending a decade at Curtis. He is also a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Bob Bodian, managing member of Mintz, said: “Michael’s arrival adds to our very strong group of IP attorneys and provides our firm with deeper and broader capacity to serve clients. He brings with him strategic trademark expertise and significant IP transactional depth and we are delighted to welcome him to the firm.”
