Microsoft and Luna Mobile agree patent licensing deal

Microsoft has agreed a worldwide patent licensing deal with Luna Mobile centring on technology used in smartphones and tablets.

The collaboration comes as Luna Mobile, which markets smartphones, telecoms services and accessories under the Luna brand, is preparing to release a new line of products later this year.

Under the agreement, Microsoft will receive royalties from Luna, though further details have been kept confidential.

Nick Psyhogeos, president of Microsoft Technology Licensing, said: “Microsoft is committed to empowering people all over the world to increase their productivity, and that’s what this new collaboration with Luna Mobile is all about.
