McCarter & English strengthens IP practice
Dr Eric Evain has joined US firm McCarter & English LLP’s IP practice as a partner.
He will be based in the firm’s Wilmington, Delaware office.
“Eric is an exceptional attorney with a remarkable career, first as a corporate research scientist and now as an intellectual property litigator,” said Michael Kelly, the firm’s chairman. “He is a welcome addition to our firm.”
Evain said that he was “honoured” to be joining McCarter & English.
During his 15 year legal career, he has litigated IP infringement cases for chemical and manufacturing corporations. He has represented companies operating in fields including specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, polymers, petroleum, surface coating and consumer products.
He has a PhD in organic chemistry and worked for more than 10 years as a corporate research scientist. He is a certified mediator for the Delaware Supreme Court.
Evain joins McCarter & English’s IP group of 100 intellectual property and information technology lawyers and patent agents. The firm has seven offices in the US.
