Mayer Brown adds tech IP partner from Davis Polk

Michelle Gross, a technology transactions partner, has joined Mayer Brown from Davis Polk & Wardwell.

Based in Palo Alto and San Francisco, California, Gross will advise clients on a range of technology-related matters including IP strategy.

She has expertise in copyright, patent, and trademark matters, and she has counselled clients on IP commercialisation. Gross’s clients are from a range of fields, including finance, IT, app development, and logistics.

Commenting on her appointment, Gross said she was attracted to the firm’s strength in areas of importance to technology companies, such as mergers and acquisitions, and IP transactional matters.

Before joining Mayer Brown, Gross spent nearly five years as counsel at Davis Polk. She previously worked at Venable, and Vinson & Elkins.

Brad Peterson, who leads Mayer Brown’s technology transactions group, said: “Michelle brings a diverse intellectual property and technology transactions practice that nicely complements our strong capabilities in Northern California and beyond.”
