LeClairRyan adds patent team led by FisherBroyles partners
LeClairRyan has added a patent prosecution team led by two partners from FisherBroyles to its Sacramento office.
Charles Yang’s industry expertise spans a range of technologies, including optics, holographic displays, telecommunications software, and consumer products.
He frequently represents clients at the US Patent and Trademark Office and he also has experience in dealing with patents in China and Hong Kong, through previous work at Baker McKenzie.
Also leading the new team is John Yang, who focuses his practice on serving clients in the chemical, electrical, mechanical, and semiconductor industries.
Having previously worked as senior director of IP at a consumer products company, John’s expertise centres on developing and implementing IP strategies alongside business objectives.
Patricia Peden, leader of LeClairRyan’s IP department, said that Charles and John bring a “high calibre of services” to the firm’s clients.
She added: “Their experience working with Chinese clients is a particularly important addition, as our firm continues to expand its global reach.”
