Kirkland & Ellis add ten IP attorneys to partnership

Kirkland & Ellis has promoted 122 attorneys to the partnership, including ten IP litigation specialists.

In Chicago, Kourtney Baltzer, Billy Foster, and Greg Polins have become partners.

Baltzer’s practice focuses on patent litigation in the fields of biotechnology, electronics, and data processing systems. Foster works on trade secret and data privacy matters, as well as patents, while Polins represents clients from the internet services and software fields in complex patent litigation.

Los Angeles-based Kevin Bendix, whose practice includes patent litigation and inter partes reviews, has also been promoted. His industry expertise covers medical devices, wireless technologies, and semiconductors.

In New York, Sam Kwon and Aaron Resetarits have been promoted to partner.

Kwon has experience in patent and trademark litigation across a range of technical fields, including medical devices, pharmaceutical products, and internet technology. Resetarits is also a patent litigator and he represents clients in areas such as biotechnology and telecommunications.

Amir Freund, in Palo Alto, has also joined the partnership. He conducts patent infringement litigation involving high-tech hardware and software, such as semiconductors and telecommunications. Freund also has experience in handling investigations at the US International Trade Commission.

In San Francisco, Reza Dokhanchy and Kristen Reichenbach have become partners.

Dokhanchy has handled patent litigation relating to electrical engineering, computer science, and semiconductors, while Reichenbach focuses on patent litigation in the biotechnology, telecommunications, and e-commerce fields, among others.

Finally, in Washington, DC, Abigail Lauer has been promoted to partner.

Her practice covers patent litigation, trade secrets, anti-competitive behaviour, and pharmaceutical regulation. Lauer’s clients come from a range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, consumer products, and mechanical designs.
