HP and ServiceNow settle patent row
Cloud company ServiceNow has settled its patent litigation dispute with technology company HP.
The settlement was reached at the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
“As a result of the settlement agreement, the two companies have filed a joint stipulation for dismissal with prejudice of the pending patent litigation in the US District Court for the Northern District of California,” the companies announced on March 9.
The terms of the settlement have been kept confidential.
HP sued ServiceNow in 2014, accusing it of infringing eight patents directed to software for managing computer networks.
Last year, the California court invalidated four patents for being too abstract.
Although HP said at the time it would press ahead with its infringement claims surrounding the other patents, the settlement brings the dispute to a close.
