Monte Cooper has joined Goodwin Procter’s Silicon Valley office as a senior counsel from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.
Based in Goodwin’s IP litigation group, Cooper will litigate complex patent, copyright, trade secret, and competition matters for a range of clients, including Fortune 500 companies.
His industry expertise covers semiconductors, digital communications, data management, software, telecommunications, and computer networking.
Cooper has also advised clients on licensing matters relating to standard-essential patents and fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory (FRAND) obligations.
Goodwin described Cooper as a veteran litigator. He spent nearly two decades at Orrick before joining the firm.
