Fish & Richardson has announced the return of Katherine Prescott to the firm’s Silicon Valley office as of counsel.

Prescott left the firm in 2009 as a principal associate after eight years with the company, before spending three years at Apple as senior patent counsel and two years at WilmerHale and Miclean Gleason respectively.

She has a background in engineering and has more than 15 years’ experience in cases involving a wide range of technologies including software, medical devices and consumer products.

Prescott also has experience leading all aspects of litigation before federal courts across the US.

“Katie’s return to our Silicon Valley office adds tremendous strength to our team’s ability to provide clients with long-term plans and solutions to protect their innovative products and services,” said Michael Headley, managing principal of Fish’s Silicon Valley office.
