Fish & Richardson names litigation practice leader

Fish & Richardson PC has made Ann Cathcart Chaplin the leader of its litigation practice group, the firm announced in March.

Cathcart Chaplin, who is managing principle of Fish & Richardson’s Twin Cities office, will be responsible for the business and marketing strategies of a group that has nearly 200 patent and commercial litigation lawyers worldwide.

Cathcart Chaplin takes over from Katherine Lutton—a principle based in the firm’s Silicon Valley office—who has led the litigation practice group for four years.

Lutton is leaving the firm’s management to practice patent litigation full-time.

Cathcart Chaplin was made managing principle of Fish & Richardson’s Twin Cities office in 2010. She has also served as a co-group leader of the litigation practice group in the Twin Cities for three years.

“Lutton has done a great job for the litigation group and the firm and I intend to build on her success,” said Cathcart Chaplin. “I look forward to continuing to enhance our reputation in the marketplace as the leading IP and litigation firm in the country.”
