DLA Piper names IP practice co-chair

DLA Piper has named Frank Ryan as the co-chair of its IP and technology (IPT) practice, effective January 1.

Ryan, who is based in the firm’s New York office, joins Stéphane Lemarchand as global co-chair of the practice.

He currently serves as deputy chair of DLA Piper’s global media, sport, and entertainment sector, and is a member of the firm’s executive committee and global board.

Ryan’s clients include those in the media, sport, and medical products industries and he advises on patent, trademark, and copyright litigation.

He will also continue to serve as chair of the US IPT practice alongside Ann Ford, who was promoted to co-chair on January 1.

Ford, based in the firm’s Washington, DC office, is also the US chair of the firm’s trademark, copyright, and media practice. She advises clients on litigation and pre-litigation protective measures and works with them on developing and exploiting IP assets.
