Carpmaels & Ransford hires two new partners to its London office

UK-based law firm Carpmaels & Ransford LLP has announced the appointment of two new partners to its London office.

Ian Kirby (pictured below, left), who has experience in advising companies in the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors, joins from Arnold & Porter LLP. His focus is on IP disputes and multijurisdictional patent litigation. He is also on the list of mediators for the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Jonathan Day (pictured below, left) also joins from Arnold & Porter, and will begin working for the firm on September 22. He specialises in trademark law and advises companies on how to protect and enforce brand rights.

Kirby said: “We are delighted to be joining Carpmaels, a firm we have long admired and worked with over the past 20 years. The firm and its clients are absolutely first class in every way, and we aim to help maintain that reputation and build on it as Carpmaels evolves into a leading full service European IP firm.”

Richard Jackson, managing partner of the firm, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ian and Jonathan to Carpmaels as we broaden the gold standard offering we already provide to clients.”

“This is just the start of a strategic move from the firm to expand our litigation offering and we will be adding to this team with more life sciences expertise in the coming weeks,” he added.
