Bradley Arant welcomes back IP litigator

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings has welcomed back an IP litigator as a partner in the firm’s Birmingham, Alabama office.

Paul Sykes had served with Bradley for more than 19 years when he left in January 2018 to serve as general counsel with Adtran, a provider of next-generation open networking solutions.

As a member of the firm’s IP and litigation practice groups, Sykes counsels clients in the acquisition, licensing and protection of IP rights.

He also represents clients in patent, copyright, trademark, unfair competition, and trade secrets litigation.

Jonathan Skeeters, chairman of the board and managing partner, said: “We are extremely happy to welcome Paul back to Bradley where he has built his reputation as one of the best IP attorneys in the US.”

Sykes has previously served as president of the IP section of the Alabama State Bar.

He said: “It is an honour to be able to resume my practice at Bradley alongside colleagues who continue to set the standards for protecting and enforcing our clients’ IP rights and business interests.”
