Bird & Bird hires IP partner in Warsaw
International law firm Bird & Bird has hired a partner for its intellectual property practice in Warsaw.
Pawel Lipski joins Bird & Bird from business law firm Wierzbowski Eversheds Sutherland, where he was head of the IP practice.
Slawomir Szepietowski, managing partner of Bird & Bird in Poland, said the addition of Lipski will strengthen the firm’s IP team.
"With the Polish government recently introducing a number of programmes designed to stimulate the formation and growth of startups, the demand for IP legal services is on the rise,” Szepietowski said.
Lipski has 13 years of experience advising on IP matters relating to new technologies and has represented companies in criminal and civil proceedings regarding IP infringement.
He also specialises in contract negotiations, complex e-commerce and data protection projects and the development of IP management strategies.
Lipski said Bird & Bird attracts a plethora of domestic and international clients to its IP practice in Warsaw.
"The firm's international breadth combined with its sector focus will provide me with an ideal platform to service my clients," he added.
