Baker McKenzie bolsters IP practice with tech partner
The ex-Linklaters counsel with broad experience of IP-related acquisitions, including trademark and patent infringement litigation, joins the firm's London office.
Baker Mckenzie has announced the addition of Natalie Ellerby as partner in its Intellectual Property, Technology, and Data practice.
Ellerby is set to join the firm on June 5, making her departure from Linklaters.
Steve Holmes, co-chair of Baker McKenzie’s Global IP, Technology, and Data Practice, said that Ellerby “will not only add further strength to our market-leading IP practice, but will also be a key contributor to the growth of our transactions and tax practices, where IP plays a crucial role”.
Ellerby offers “a wealth of experience in IP and also in the healthcare and life sciences, TMT, and CGR sectors, given the firm’s strategic focus on these fields,” added Ed Poulton, the firm’s London managing partner.
Ellerby previously provided counsel to clients on IP-related acquisitions and disposals, including cross-border carve-outs, intragroup IP re-organisations, and joint venture arrangements.
Her expertise extends to contentious matters, as she has advised clients on disputes including trademark and patent infringement litigation, international actions coordination, coexistence and licensing disputes, and damages inquiries.
