Baker Botts boosts IP litigation team in Washington, DC
Baker Botts has appointed former Kirkland & Ellis partner Katharine Burke to its International Trade Commission (ITC) team in Washington, DC.
Burke focuses her practice on IP litigation and licensing assertions and has experience across a range of technologies including mobile operating systems and network protocols.
The firm’s ITC practice is currently involved in five active ITC investigations, and completed two ITC trials in 2017 “for a global technology client in one of the industry’s most closely watched competitor disputes”, according to a company statement.
“Katharine’s exceptional IP litigation background in a wide range of technologies and her top-notch engineering qualifications will be tremendous assets to our clients,” stated partner Lisa Kattan.
“We welcome her as she adds to the stellar make-up of the lawyers in our ITC and district court practice.”
