Baker Botts appoints Robert Scheinfeld as IP co-chair
Baker Botts has appointed Robert Scheinfeld as co-chair of the firm’s IP department.
He will join Dallas IP partner Bart Showlater as department co-chair, and will assume the role of sole chair on January 1, 2020.
Scheinfeld previously served as partner-in-charge of Baker Botts’ New York office and head of the firm’s New York IP practice for over 15 years.
He has 35 years of experience as a first-chair patent trial attorney, with litigation and trial representations in the district court, International Trade Commission (ITC) and Federal Circuit.
John Martin, managing partner of Baker Botts, said Scheinfeld is a “tremendous developer of talent and champion of diversity and growth, as he demonstrated as partner-in-charge of the New York office”.
On his appointment, Scheinfeld said: “I look forward to continuing to advance the strategic growth and reputation of our IP practice as we advise many of the most prominent technology and life sciences companies on their most important IP matters.”
