Baker Botts adds partner in Austin

Law firm Baker Botts has expanded its intellectual property practice in Texas with the appointment of a new partner.

David Weaver joins the firm’s Austin office from law firm Vinson & Elkins.

He focuses his practice on patent, copyright, and licensing disputes and has represented clients in the software, technology, and digital media industries.

Barton Showalter, chair of the firm’s IP practice, said: “David’s addition [in Austin] will further strengthen our ties to this important community.”
