UK-based law firm Avidity IP has appointed Scott Roberts to lead its electronics, telecoms and computer science team.
Roberts joins from IBM, where he was responsible for providing guidance on European patentability issues—particularly concerning computer software and business method inventions.
He has previously consulted on mergers and acquisitions, copyright and IP policy. He has particular experience in IP procurement and patent oppositions.
Malcolm Lawrence, Avidity IP’s chief executive, said: “Scott has all the personal and professional qualities we seek to deliver Avidity IP’s unique brand of IP service and, indeed, to take it to the next level.”
