Allen & Overy continues growth

Allen & Overy has announced that Steven E. Adkins has joined its Washington, DC, office as a partner in the US litigation group and the global IP practice, which comprises around 100 IP partners and lawyers in offices in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Adkins is a trial lawyer specialising in Section 337 investigations involving patent infringement in international trade and other unfair trade issues before the International Trade Commission (ITC) and at US Customs. “Our global practice provides clients with exceptional IP services in the US, Europe and Asia-Pacific,” said Michael Feldberg, head of the US litigation practice.

“The ITC is being increasingly used as a forum to raise IP disputes. Steve’s vast experience representing clients in Section 337 patent infringement investigations will be invaluable to Allen & Overy’s clients in the US as well as around the world.”

Adkins has served as lead trial counsel representing both respondents and complainants based in Asia, Europe and the US in Section 337 investigations involving various technologies, such as chemicals, computer software, telecommunications, mechanical patents and semiconductors.

He also has represented clients in matters before various state and federal appellate courts, including the US Supreme Court. Adkins joins Allen & Overy from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where he co-chaired its Section 337 ITC Practice.
