Venable adds 9-member media litigation team
Venable has boosted its commercial litigation practice with the addition of four entertainment and media litigation partners and five associates from Kelley Drye & Warren.
Lee Brenner, Sarah Cronin, David Fink, and Michael O’Connor join the Venable team as partners.
Trial attorney Brenner has particular experience in the areas of defamation, copyright law, idea theft, IP, and right of publicity.
Cronin has represented and advised media and entertainment companies on a variety of matters, including copyright, trademark, defamation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, and internet domain name retrieval through the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Mitch Evall, partner-in-charge of the firm’s Los Angeles office, said: “We are bringing over a stellar team of top-notch litigators who know the ins and outs of the entertainment and media industry, which perfectly complements our existing capabilities in this sector and makes us even stronger.”
With more than two decades of experience in state and federal litigation and dispute resolution, Fink has prosecuted and defended against complex claims, in areas including IP and entertainment.
O’Connor, who is in his fourth decade of practice as a commercial litigator and trial lawyer, has prosecuted and defended against hundreds of claims in a wide variety of commercial cases.
The five associates joining the team are Sarah Diamond, Cary Finkelstein, Ken Kronstadt, Michael Godino, and Christina Nordsten.
Brenner said: “We were looking to join a firm that would enable us to accomplish our goal of having a second-to-none entertainment and media litigation group with both a Los Angeles and a nationwide platform.”
